Investis Digital Joins ISMP To Support NYC Homeless Youth
At Investis Digital, our core values help define every aspect of our business and the way we function. We believe that these values help us be our best, and that by embracing them, and finding them in those we partner with, we will attain the most success. In our recent efforts, joining together with The International Sports and Music Project (ISMP), two values especially, “Bring Passion” and “Inspire Greatness,” came to the forefront.
In the days before the pandemic, Investis Digital purchased arcade style basketball hoops to help bring passion and fun to our NYC yearly kickoff meeting. Our teams greatly enjoyed shooting hoops as a part of a clever escape-room style, team-building exercise, and everyone felt energized by the experience, blood was pumping, laughter filled the room, and passion was out in full force. With stay-at-home orders and social distancing measures being enforced, due to the COVID-19 virus it was clear that we could use these hoops for hope.
In comes ISMP, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase access to sports and music programming in shelters, refugee camps, orphanages, and vulnerable communities around the world as a means of bolstering positive mental health globally. They’re based in Brooklyn and also run local after-school programs with underprivileged children in New York City. In short, they help children develop their passions by opening up a pathway for them to explore different outlets that bring them joy.
Happily, we were able to arrange for the donation of our basketball hoops to take place and here’s what Jason Steinberg, Founder and Executive Director had to say, “At a time when kids at shelters are more isolated than ever, something as simple as a basketball hoop can have an enormous impact on individuals’ mental and emotional well-being on a day-to-day basis. A basketball hoop creates an outlet to feel joy and to connect with others. We are greatly appreciative of everyone at Investis Digital who made this possible – thank you!”
It is always gratifying to team up with a partner who embodies our values and with whom we can help make a true difference. In deference to the current pandemic, ISMP has shifted efforts to helping those affected all over the world receive emergency food relief, as well as continuing their regular efforts to bring music and sports to those who may be unable to access it, especially in tough times.
