We can all agree that daily life for most of us looks drastically different than it did twelve months ago. From distance learning, working from home, telehealth sessions, and of course limited social gatherings our time spent on the internet has exponentially increased. 

Safer Internet Day is celebrated every year on the second day of the second week of February. But what is Safer Internet Day and why is it important? The Day began as an initiative of the EU SafeBorders project in 2004 and has grown to be celebrated in over 150 countries worldwide. It is focused on different issues that plague the internet, from cyberbullying to safe social networking, to keeping yourself protected as you use different social networks and websites. Safer Internet Day gathers millions of people across the globe together to create positive changes online, raise awareness and take part in events and activities.  

The theme of the Safer Internet Day 2021 is "together for a better internet." As with many global events, this day serves as a reminder of how people and businesses should be acting at all times when it comes to online activity. 

According to a report from Cybercrime Magazine, security experts have predicted that cybercrime will cost the world $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. And it will cost the global economy $6.1 trillion annually by 2021. Have you thought about your go-forward plan to ensure you are being safe?
