Amazon has announced a new evolution in cashier-less technology, with planned openings of new grocery stores that use “Dash Carts”. These carts combine the Amazon app with cameras and sensors to identify purchased items and allow for automatic payment without lines or cashier interactions. Other smart technology will also be present in the store, such as Amazon’s Echo, to help assist shoppers with their needs.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt normal functioning, technology is being used in new ways to help make consumer experiences safer and better. While Amazon’s evolving technologies might not be relevant to all brands, they are an excellent example of the way companies should be analyzing their current functioning and optimizing towards the new normal.

At Investis Digital, we know that the pandemic has not created the digital-first evolution, but it has highly accelerated it. Companies unsure if they have fully adjusted their offerings to reflect the current times may be missing valuable opportunities to connect and, in fact, to offer value to the audiences who matter most.

From fields like education, to consumer goods, to service industry companies, digital has become the crucial landscape through which to build audience connection and trust. At Investis Digital, we’re constantly thinking about how to help companies communicate online. From helping brands tell their storiesbased on values and transparency, to building and running corporate websites in a user-friendly, secure way, to utilizing performance marketing tactics to find the audiences companies want to connect with. We’re helping brands take full advantage of the technology at their disposal in a way that works for them.
