Are you using your digital tools in the most efficient ways? If you’re using Google Chrome, ‘Automatic Tab Groups,’ a potential new feature, might help you save a lot of time in the way you organize your browser use.
After a long time in development, Google recently created the “Tab Groups” feature which allows tabs to be organized into distinct groups, labeled with a unique name and color, moved and collapsed. Groups can help organize a user by allowing tabs to be linked together by topic, project, or even urgency.
But to save the user even more time, Google is not attempting to automate the grouping process, though testing is still occurring on how exactly this will work. Presently, it seems as though tabs opened from the same domain will become automatically grouped. To assist with computer resources, Google is also attempting to freeze collapsed tabs, so they are not using up resources in the background while a user is working. Freezing single tabs has already been in the works. These features are being rolled out to Chrome’s stable version, but can be explored further on Chrome Beta or Canary.
